Rachel trained initially with Simon Low at the Yoga Academy. She has continued studying with many teachers including Francoise Freedman at Birthlight, where she has undertaken many courses associated with pregnancy, childbirth,  postnatal & baby yoga. At the Special Yoga Centre with Jo Manuel, she qualified in teaching yoga to children.

Her inspirational teachers include Sharana Rao, her first yoga teacher, Kathy Norsworthy, Raquel Alves, Sarah Powers, Paul Grilley, Jo Manuel, Ruth Gilmore, Shiva Rea, Uma Dinsmore-Tuli Sitaram to name a few.

Rachel has  practiced yoga since a teenager, introduced by her mother in the 1980s. She has always been interested in the human body and after many years working in the field of pathology, she decided to put her medical knowledge to use as a body worker in yoga, combining her love of  anatomy and physiology and yoga knowledge to increase individual public health.

She has studied with Simon Low, in the tradition of TKV Desikachar, where the belief in a modified yoga practice for individuals is essential. So whether you go to a regular class or you are a beginner, the classes she teaches can be adapted to your needs. She offers an alternative to the myth of having to be flexible to do yoga, whatever your physical, mental or emotional situation is at the moment, there is always a yoga practice available to you.

The classes offered range from a  quiet meditative floor based restorative/yin class to a energetic dynamic vinyasa flow yoga class. A range of perinatal yoga classes are taught, from preconception yoga to pregnancy postnatal yoga as well as baby/children and well woman yoga. Rachel also offers one-to-one yoga classes tailored to your needs.

Rachel continues to study philosophy, mindfulness meditation.

    Yoga with Rachel helps me to understand my body and myself. Time spend with Rachel and other yogis but most of all with myself during yoga classes allows me to comprehend my feelings and to say yes to them. I become more open to the universe.

    Rachel is a very good yoga teacher. She teaches yoga having a good knowledge about human anatomy, which is valuable to me.
